The Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan has announced the official results of the extraordinary presidential elections. The current president, Kassym-Jomart Tokaiev, has won the Presidential Election, Tengrinew.kz reports.
Tokaiev, the designated successor of former leader Nursultan Nazarbaiev, gained support of 70.96% (6,539,715 votes) voters. The second place was taken by the oppositionist Amirjan Kosanov, who managed to gain 16.23% (1,495,401 votes) of votes.
The inauguration of the new president will take place on June 12.
