Kazakhstan’s interim president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on April 9 has announce that early presidential election to be held on June 9, Radio Azattyk reports.
The report notes that the interim president of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during his appeal to the people announced the decision to hold extraordinary elections of the president of Kazakhstan on June 9.
According to Tokayev, the elections are “absolutely necessary”. He called Kazakhstan “a democratic state”, said that “the president will be elected in accordance to the will of the people”, and the elections will be held “honestly, openly and fairly”, saying that this is his “fundamental task”.
As The Journalist reported, the speaker of the Kazakhstan’s Senate Tokayev became the acting president of Kazakhstan.
