Chinese have explored the deepest blue hole on the planet

Scientists from the People’s Republic of China measured depth of natural reservoir with water in territory of Chinese city of Sansha and concluded that the depth of giant natural well is a record one, according to IFLScience!.

The depth of the natural reservoir is a little over 300 m. The previous record holder, the Dinu blue hole in the Bahamas, has a depth of about 200 m.
The official name of the deep-water cave is Yongle (Chinese: “Eternal Joy”). The experts said that the diameter of the hole on the surface reaches 130 m and gradually narrows to 36 m.

“This blue whole represents a great scientific, historical, and cultural value,” they stressed in the center of oceanic forecasting of China’s environment.
