Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin called on Ukrainian citizens living in Russian-occupied territories not to accept Russian passports. About this he wrote in his Twitter:

“I urge Ukrainian citizens living in the territories occupied by Russia not to accept Russian passports. Russia has deprived you of the present, and now it encroaches on your future.”

Klimkin also noted that in this way the Russian Federation continues its aggression against Ukraine and continues to interfere in her internal affairs.

“This is a new ‘passport’ stage of the occupation of Donbas,” said Klimkin.

As The Journalist reported, Putin had signed a decree on a simplified procedure for acquiring citizenship of the Russian Federation by Ukrainian citizens living in LNR / DNR.
