Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin called activities of Russian diplomats in Ukraine «criminal», but the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry will not close the Russian consulates in Ukrainian cities, and in particular in Kharkiv.
Klimkin noted that Russian diplomats in Ukraine «are engaged in activities that are inherent in the activities of the special services», writes UNIAN.
According to minister, consular presence in the Russian Federation is important, since Ukrainian diplomats help political prisoners, other Ukrainians, and even during the war almost 3 million Ukrainians reside in Russia.
Klimkin stressed that if Ukraine closes Russian consulates, the Russian Federation will close Ukrainian, and this will lead to the fact that Ukrainian diplomats will be deprived of the opportunity to assist Ukrainian citizens in Russia.
At the same time, the minister said that the Ukrainian authorities have the ability to control the activities of Russian diplomats in Ukraine, although the diplomat called this activity «criminal».
As The Journalist reported, in Lithuanian Seimas they supported Ukraine’s intentions to fix the course in NATO and the EU in Constitution.
