The Supreme Court supported the National Bank and PrivatBank in a dispute against Igor Kolomoisky’s companies, who intended to relieve themselves of the obligations on refinancing loans, which the National Bank issued to PrivatBank before nationalization, biz.nv.ua reports.
The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) and PrivatBank finally won a lawsuit on claims by the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant (NFZ) and the Cypriot company Trovelko Holdings Limited, which demanded to release them from refinancing obligations, which the NBU issued to PrivatBank, in the amount of UAH 2.6 billion and UAH 143 million, respectively. The decision was made by the Grand Chamber of the Supreme Court. Note that in general, starting in 2017, about 30 lawsuits were considered by courts of different instances.
Recall that the lower courts first took the side of Kolomoisky in litigations, but after the Supreme Court decision of May 14, they began to support the position of the National Bank and PrivatBank.
As The Journalist reported, Kolomoisky returned to Ukraine.
