Toyota recalls hundreds of thousands of cars worldwide

The Japanese Toyota Motor company, one of the world leaders in the automotive industry, plans to recall more than a million cars due to the risk of ignition of the electrical system. This issue is related to the Prius and C-HR models, which were produced in the period from June 2015 to May 2018. This is reported by New time news agency, citing the Engadget publication.

Machines will be returned to production in order to repair the problem elements. According to preliminary calculations, Toyota Motor will have to recall about 192,000 Prius cars from the United States of America, as well as about 550,000 vehicles in Japan.
Dealers will check the harness assembly. In the case the experts identify the problem, these vehicles will be repaired free of charge. If no problems will be detected, a protective tape will be applied to the wiring harness assembly.
According to the information, it is known about one case of smoke in the Toyota car, caused by this malfunction. Fortunately, as a result of the incident, no one was hurt.
