Royal Air Force Typhoon fighters based in Romania have been launched in responce to Russian Su-24 aircraft operating near NATO airspace over the Black Sea. This is reported by the press center of the Royal Air Force (RAF).

Russian aircraft did not violate the NATO airspace, but British fighters continued patrolling the area for a short period of time after the Su-24 was detected.

«The fighters were sent toward the unknown Russian aircraft, which were close to infringing NATO airspace. They did not enter NATO airspace, so we were ordered to patrol the sky for a short period of time as a deterrent,» – the press center said.
