On November 19, investigators of the Kyiv police, under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, conducted searches in the offices of the National Memorial Complex of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred – the Revolution of Dignity Museum, the company – the general contractor and at the place of residence of the relevant officials.

The searches were carried out on the basis of the decision of the Holosiivsky District Court of Kyiv as part of the criminal investigation initiated under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that on December 22, 2018 between the National Memorial Complex of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred – the Museum of the Revolution of Dignity and a private society, was concluded a general contract for the implementation of construction works and an advance payment of about UAH 111.6 million was transferred to its account, which accounted for 80% of the total contract amount.

“The deadline for the work was determined from December 2018 to August 2019. At the same time, during the specified period, the general contractor actually did not carry out any work, even preparatory work. The balance of funds for the facility on the contractor’s treasury account as of March 2020 amounted to UAH 9.8 million, “the prosecutor’s office noted, adding that the searches were carried out in order to set up the circumstances of the criminal offense and identify material evidence that may be significant for consequences.

The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office noted that these searches have nothing to do with the events during the Revolution of Dignity. The investigation is checking the legality of the use of budgetary funds allocated for the construction of the museum.
