The mayor of Kyiv Vitalii Klitschko has said that the capital received 50 new buses assembled by the Belarusian MAZ plant, and another 150 will arrive by the end of the year, the Kyiv City State Administration reports.
“I want to emphasize that even in this difficult time, time of fight against a pandemic, an economic crisis, a war in the east of Ukraine – the capital was able to purchase 139 new trolleybuses, 65 modern trams and, in total, 307 new buses over the past few years. We will receive 200 of them on leasing terms by the end of this year. I am very pleased to present the first batch out of two hundred – 50 brand new buses produced by the Belarusian MAZ plant. By the end of the year, another 150 such vehicles will arrive,” the mayor of Kyiv emphasized, noting that a significant number of the rolling stock of Kyivpastrans are buses, the service life of which exceeds 10 years.
New buses have a low floor, ramps and special seats for people with disabilities. Also, the buses are equipped with a video surveillance and navigation system. The driver’s cab and passenger compartment are air conditioned. These machines comply with the Euro-5 environmental standard.
Of the new 200 buses, 120 are 12 meters long and have a passenger capacity of 106 people, another 80 buses are almost 19 meters long with 176 seats.
