From November 9, Latvia introduced a state of emergency to limit the spread of the coronavirus, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

The corresponding decision was made on November 6 at a joint meeting of the government and the Crisis Management Council. It is known that the state of emergency will operate until December 6.

“During the state of emergency, all face-to-face public events will be prohibited. This ban will not apply to outdoor gatherings, processions and pickets. No more than 10 people from no more than two households will be allowed to attend private events, with the exception of funerals,” the report says.

Venues for cultural events, exhibitions, religious activities and sports activities will have to start work no earlier than 6.00 and end no later than 20.00. An exception will be sports centers, which will have to finish work no later than 22.00.

For violation of restrictions or prohibitions established at the time of an emergency, a fine is provided from € 10 to € 2000 for individuals and from € 140 to € 5000 – for legal entities.

As you know, since the beginning of the pandemic in Latvia, coronavirus has been confirmed in 7,476 people, 1,444 people have fully recovered, 95 have died.
