Negotiations on accession of Northern Macedonia to the European Union begin in summer

The European Union intends to begin accession negotiations with the Republic of Northern Macedonia this summer.

This was reported by Annemarie Huber, aide for Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Johannes Hahn.

“Historical day. Now we are in full swing towards a successful start of accession negotiations this summer,” said Huber.

She also referred to the words of the Macedonian Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov, who said that “miracles in the Western Balkans are possible”.

Huber added that this is possible with leadership and determination.

As The Journalist reported, Northern Macedonia joined NATO.
