The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko supports the proposal of his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky on holding a meeting in Minsk with the Russian President Vladimir Putin and leaders of some other countries, says a statement by the press service of the President of Belarus.

“In connection with numerous questions of the media regarding the statement made by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, in which he proposed to organize an international meeting in Minsk with the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, the United States, Great Britain, Germany, France, we inform that the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is certainly aware of the proposals voiced by Volodymyr Zelensky,” said in a statement.

“We want to recognize immediately that there is nothing new in the policy of the President of Belarus regarding his attitude towards the conflict in Ukraine. This position remains unchanged, that is, you cannot look at each other through the sights of your guns, you need to sit down and solve the accumulated problems,” the statement said.

“Regarding the venue of the meeting … there is no two ways about it: the war is on our doorstep, and Minsk has always considered and still considers it is an honor to be a platform for peace initiatives and negotiations,” the statement stresses.

As The Journalist reported, Zelensky, Tusk visit Stanytsia Luhanska “ruins”.
