After the presidential election, the Ukrainian Finance Minister Oksana Markarova outlined her action plan as Minister of Finance. She wrote about this on Facebook.
She said that she would continue to work until the end of the cadence of the Cabinet of Ministers and named her priorities as Minister of Finance:
“Introduction of three-year budgeting, preparation of a draft budget for 2020 [with a smaller deficit than this year], creation of a new customs and tax services and tax police reform; completion of IFC investment in Ukrgasbank and introduction of new supervisory boards in all state banks; creation of a management agency debt and further reduction of debt to GDP lvl; acceleration of data discovery, including in public finances; financial support for all reforms: first of all – medical and educational ones.”
In addition, the Minister of Finance added that she would continue to pay special attention to the financing of security and defense sector of Ukraine.
As The Journalist reported, the Ministry of Finance will divide State Fiscal Service of Ukraine into tax and customs services by the end of April 2019.
