Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Martsinkiv, after a meeting with Prime Minister Denys Shmygal, has said that the government plans to introduce a full lockdown. He clarified that the weekend quarantine was a certain preparation for tougher measures.

To the pessimistic scenario, a two-week lockdown will be introduced on December 10-15, and to an optimistic one – on December 20-25.

“The position of the government is unchanged – there will be a weekend quarantine. In addition, it has been argued that this is a smooth preparation for a full lockdown. Numbers were voiced, this pessimistic version of the lockdown will be December 10-15, in the optimistic version – December 20-25 for several weeks,” the message says.

Martsinkiv believes that this will lead to a catastrophe for the economy, especially the lockdown will hit small and medium-sized businesses.
