First mass funeral of the victims of a terrorist attack in Sri Lanka, that took place on April 21 began, the BBC reports with reference to the police.

It is noted that the death toll from attacks on churches and hotels reached 310.

The government of Sri Lanka has accused the local Islamist group National Thowheed Jamath of the terrorist attacks. Police detained 40 suspects.

The country introduced state of emergency: it gives the police and the military the power to detain and interrogate suspects without court approval.

Authorities have blocked access to Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram.

As The Journalist reported, the ninth explosion occurred in Sri Lanka.
