Coronavirus outbreak has been recorded in the Institute of Special Communication and Information Security of National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, Serhiii Chumak, the acting Director of the State Institution Kyiv City Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, said.
According to him, 52 cases of coronavirus among cadets were laboratory-confirmed in one of the dormitories.
“The first four cases were recorded from July 22 to July 24. Also in the institution were tested another 61 cadets who were in contact with the sick ones. Among them, 48 were tested positive,” Chumak noted.
He also noted that a total of 152 cadets live in the hostel.
“Appropriate disinfection measures are being taken in the hostel. All other contact persons are under control. In order to prevent the spread of infection among the cadets, special premises in the hostel have been allocated for isolating infected,” Chumak stressed.
