Ukrainian businessman Max Polyakov, founder of Noosphere Ventures, invested more than USD 150 million in the rocket company Firefly Aerospace and entered the TOP-3 leaders of the space market, Bloomberg reports.
According to journalist Ashley Vance, author of the biographical book about Elon Musk, Ukrainian entrepreneur Max Polyakov bought out the debts and developments of Firefly Aerospace, and from 2017 to 2020 invested more than USD 150 million in the development of the first rocket.
Because of this amount of investment, Max Polyakov took third place in the space race, right after Elon Musk founder of SpaceX and Jeff Bezos, the founder of Blue Origin.
Firefly Aerospace has already signed contracts with the U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon and NASA to launch satellites and develop a lunar landing module for the Artemis program. The first launch of the Firefly Alpha rocket scheduled for late fall 2020.
