German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said that it is necessary to prepare for a long period COVID-19 pandemic, DW reports.
“We do not experience the final phase of the pandemic, but still the initial. We will have to live with this virus for a long time,” she said..
According to Merkel, the situation is unstable currently and should be treated with extreme caution, including observing social restrictions.
“This pandemic is a democratic challenge because it limits exactly what are our life rights and needs,” the chancellor emphasized.
