The head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphanius, said that in the future the unification of the Ukrainian Orthodox churches of the Eastern and Western rites is theoretically possible.
According to the Metropolitan, an appropriate dialogue should be conducted to examine the question of a possible unification.
“On the whole, many are striving for this, which means that these churches must unite in the future. But in order to unite, we must come to a dialogue. We are now working closely. We jointly implement certain projects, participate in joint events “, – noted Epiphanius.
The prime minister also said that the question of joining the two confessions was raised during his meeting with the head of the UGCC, Espresso reports.
“At a meeting with His Beatitude Svyatoslav, we talked about further deepening our cooperation. In this cooperation, we will come to a dialogue, and already the dialogue will determine whether we can unite. Theoretically, this is possible in the future. But it depends on how we will work together, to maintain these friendly relations, to strive for this unity, “said Epiphanius, adding that in the future all Orthodox should unite in a single church.
