The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was the first among the central executive authorities to submit a draft Strategy of Military Security of Ukraine to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The Journalist reported with reference to the press center of the Ministry of Defense.

“It is based on the National Security Strategy of Ukraine, recently approved by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. If the NSDC approves it, the Military Security Strategy will be put into effect by the Decree of the President of Ukraine,” said the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran.

According to him, the document will determine the goals, priorities and ways of implementing the state policy in the spheres of national security and defense in terms of ensuring the military security of our state. The Ukrainian military security strategy is the basis for the development of the Strategic Defense Bulletin of Ukraine, program documents on defense and development of the defense forces, the development of weapons and military equipment, as well as the defense plan of Ukraine and plans for the use of defense forces.

“The military security strategy is designed to replace the Military Doctrine of Ukraine and is being developed for the first time. It proposes to consolidate the concept of integrated defense and involve not only the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but also all components of the security and defense sector and civil society for its implementation. Today it is the most rational strategy in the context of an existential military threat to national security, taking into account the imbalance of the military potentials of Ukraine and Russia,” said Andriy Taran.

He also noted that the comprehensive defense of Ukraine provides for the use of all forms and methods of armed struggle against the aggressor. Including asymmetric and other actions for the defense of the state in compliance with the principles and norms of international law.

The Ministry of Defense is already working and plans to submit a draft of a new Strategic Defense Bulletin for consideration and approval by the state leadership within three months after the approval of the Military Security Strategy.
