The appearance of U.S. Navy ships in disputed South China Sea caused a strong reaction from China, reported the ChannelNewsAsia.

«The U.S. warships arbitrarily entered the disputed water area of the Paracel Island chain without permission of the Chinese government on May 27. The Chinese armed forces dispatched warships to identify and warn off U.S. Navy vessels to leave the water area», – said the Defense Ministry spokesman Wu Qian.

Recall that the China, Japan, Vietnam and the Philippines have disagreements over the maritime boundaries in the South and East China Seas.

Beijing believes that the Philippines and Vietnam are supported by the United States, to escalate tensions in the region.

Washington states that China builds artificial islands, turns them into military facilities and expands its territorial waters.

China rejects all US charges.

As «The Journalist» earlier reported, China hits 128 US imports with tariffs in retaliatory move.
