Today, on October 6, a citizen of the Republic of Moldova was detained in the Odessa oblast, transporting cartridges and a thermal imager across the Ukrainian-Moldovan border.
According to Southern Regional Department of the State Border Service of Ukraine, a man detained at the checkpoint Kuchurgan.
It is noted that the citizen of Moldova planned to cross the state border in Odessa oblast in car Mitsubishi Pajero of Bulgarian registration.
«With regard to him, border inspectors had information from staff of operational-search units of department on possible movement of weapons or ammunition. The service dog involved in inspection worked on his vehicle», department reported.
Therefore, the car brought to in-depth inspection. During inspection, border guards along with representatives of customs in car cabin among things found 40 rounds of 7.62 mm caliber, and in luggage compartment they found a thermal imager, binoculars and a silencer.
About this fact notified to law enforcement. Now all detected items have been removed, relevant urgent measures are being taken.
