More than 270 settlements in Ukraine de-energized due to bad weather

As of February 9, some 274 settlements in 12 regions of Ukraine were de-energized due to deteriorated weather conditions, according to the press service of the State Emergency Service.

The protection systems on power lines were triggered due to strong gusts of wind and wet snow sticking, leaving settlements without power supply.

As a result of the complication of weather conditions, cities and villages in 12 regions were de-energized: in Odesa region (85), Kherson (54), Chernivtsi (40), Mykolaiv (35), Zaporizhzhia (12), Poltava (12), Kyiv (10), Kirovohrad (10), Donetsk (7), Zakarpattia (5), Zhytomyr (3), and Dnipropetrivsk (1).

Regional energy distribution companies deployed their repair teams to tackle blackouts.
