The chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, Hennadiy Moskal, said that a critical situation with medications for patients with terminal stage of renal insufficiency has developed in the region by the fault of the Ministry of Health.

The corresponding statement was promulgated by the press service of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.

It is noted that some 18 patients in the region need renal replacement therapy by peritoneal dialysis. According to Moskal, today the Transcarpathian region received from the Ministry the Medical Consumables only for 2016. Remains of medications, which are purchased for the regional budget, will be sufficient until August 1.

«By the end of this year and the first quarter of the 2019, Transcarpathian Oblast requires about USD 3.7 million for peritoneal dialysis. We repeatedly appealed to the Ministry of Health with requests to provide the region with the necessary funds. However, the Ministry of Health does not purchase medicines,» – added the Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.

He also said that without necessary treatment, 18 patients are doomed to an imminent death.

«I publicly warn the Acting Minister of Healthcare of Ukraine Ulana Suprun, that the life of 18 seriously ill citizens of the Transcarpathian region lies entirely on her responsibility,» – Moskal added.

As «The Journalist» reported, Transcarpathian region has received 15,000 doses of vaccines against measles and 21,600 doses of pentavalent vaccines.
