MP from Servant of the People Party and one of the authors of the bill on capital of Ukraine, Oleksandr Tkachenko, has said that Kyiv mayoral elections is likely to be held in spring 2020.
“I would like it to happen as early as possible, because there is not much time for positional discussions. But, it seems, the most likely elections will be held next spring,” Tkachenko said in an interview with the Liviy Bereh.
According to the deputy, there is no answer whether there will be local elections throughout Ukraine. Tkachenko believes that holding elections for a long period is necessary to reboot the system.
Oleksandr Tkachenko said there are three basic problems in Kyiv – chaotic development, housing and communal services and infrastructure condition.
“Sociology identify a number of problems that concern people the most: water quality, level and condition of medical service,” Tkachenko said.
As The Journalist reported, Vitali Klitschko intends to run again for Kyiv mayor.
