IMF: Verkhovna Rada should adopt 2019 State Budget and raise heating tariffs

The Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund is awaiting the adoption of the state budget of Ukraine for 2019 and an increase in heating tariffs in order to approve a new 14-months program.

This was stated by the head of the IMF communications department, Gerry Rice, at a briefing in Washington, UNIAN reported.

«As of today, the Board of Directors is awaiting for start of the preliminary agreed actions, which include the adoption of the state budget for 2019 and the increase in heating tariffs by the Ukrainian Parliament,» Rice said.

The representative of the IMF stressed that is also expected from Ukraine to progress in macroeconomics, attention to the consolidation of taxes and the strengthening of reforms of tax administration, her financial and energy sectors.

As The Journalist reported, the Ukrainians were allowed to choose between subsidies and privileges for heat during the heating season.
