Khreshchatyk pedestrian zone is planned to be extended to Bessarabska Square, said Deputy Director of Transport Infrastructure Department of KSCA DmitryRakhmatullin.

«It is planned to expand the pedestrian zone for residents and visitors of the capital, which will move from Khreshchatyk to Bessarabka, by blocking the street, almost filled with parked cars», official said.
This project will be implemented within the framework of the new city development strategy.

«In general, Kyiv was a car city, but the continuation of the old strategy will only lead to a worsening of the transport situation, which is already at the limit. Accordingly, now we are developing pedestrian areas, installing parking benches so that motorists do not stop by on the sidewalks», Rahmatullin said.

As reported by The Journalist on the Independence Day of Ukraine in Kyiv will be a grand military parade.
