On January 8, NASA reported the main camera aboard the Hubble space telescope failed due to a hardware failure. About this informs Space.com.

"The issue with the Wide Field Camera aboard the Hubble space telescope occured," said in a statement.

However, three other cameras on the orbiting telescope functioning well.
The report notes that it is not clear at the moment how long it may take to fix the problem. It clarifies that NASA, like other agencies of the federal government, is partially closed because Congress and President Donald Trump could not agree on a budget.
