On organization of presidential elections in Ukraine will be spent more than 2 billion UAH of taxpayers

Deputy Chairman of Central Election Commission (CEC) of Ukraine Yevhen Radchenko said that more than 2 billion hryvnia will be spent on the organization of presidential elections.

«The total amount is still 2 billion 354 million 880 thousand UAH, of which about 1.5 billion UAH for the first round of elections, 848 million UAH for the second round of elections», said Radchenko.

According to the secretary of the CEC, Nataliia Berdatska, the commission expects that, when considering the draft state budget for 2019 in the second reading, comments on the redistribution of funds that were not used for local elections will be taken into account.

«We plan to use them for cyber security. We hope that we will have time to hold tenders and purchase technical equipment to ensure cybersecurity», quotes Berdatska Unian.

Recall that the next presidential elections in Ukraine will be held March 31, 2019. The start of the election campaign is scheduled for December 31, 2018.
From this day begins the registration of potential candidates to the CEC and the election campaign, which ends at midnight on the last Friday before the vote.
Note that until February 9, 2019, the final list of candidates for the presidency will be announced.
