The deployment of the UN peacekeeping troops (UN) in Ukraine’s Donbas will take from six months to one year after the relevant decision will be adopted by the UN Security Council.
This was stated by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations, Volodymyr Yelchenko.
«After the decision on physical deployment of the UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas will be adopted it will take at least from six months to a year. Thus, this will not happen soon,» – Yelchenko stressed.
The diplomat is convinced that «it is necessary to continue pressure on Russia. First of all with sanctions and policies, so that the Russian Federation agreed to at least start a serious conversation about the deployment of the UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas.»
Yelchenko stressed that it is absolutely unacceptable for Russian peacekeepers or military personnel from the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to take part in peacekeeping mission.
As The Journalist reported, Poroshenko will make loud statements during his speech at UN General Assembly.
