President Mnangagwa wins Zimbabwe election

The incumbent president of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa gained 50.8% of the vote in the elections held on Sunday, July 30, along with the parliamentary elections.

The Election Commission of Zimbabwe announced the winner of the presidential rally, Emmerson Mnangagwa, Deutsche Welle reported.

Zimbabwe opposition party called the presidential election result «fake». Leader of the opposition, Nelson Chamisa, who heads the party «Movement for Democratic Change» gained 44.3% of the vote. Voter turnout rates was near 80% in most of the country’s provinces.

As The Journalist reported, Zimbabwe hosted presidential and parliamentary elections.
