The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will recommend to NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine to provide households with gas meters at the expense of the company.
This was stated by Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman at a government meeting on January 30:
“I think that everyone be interested in this, all should calculate and know who consumes gas and how much it consumes. And today, gas companies are beginning to write off the volume of gas consumed at each other. There must be gas counters. There are households without gas counters. Whose responsibility is this? This is the responsibility of gas suppliers. For this reason we will recommend that Naftogaz of Ukraine provide citizens with gas counters. Then we will know exactly the volumes of consumption.”
According to Groysman, the decision stated that the Ministry of Economic Development should take into account the funds, which will be spent on meters, into the Naftogaz’s financial plan.
“After this decision will be approved, I would like to instruct the Ministry of Energy to exercise strict control over the implementation of this task by Naftogaz. I want a gas meter at the expense of Naftogaz in the shortest possible time, as far as possible, in each household of Ukraine. We will put an end to an uncontrolled consumption, and no one will abuse it. Everyone will understand that there is an account for which you have to pay,” PM said.
As The Journalist reported, the court ordered Naftogaz to disclose information about the awards received after the victory over Gazprom.
