The national joint-stock company Naftogaz of Ukraine has appealed to the Svea Court of Appeal (Sweden), which, at the request of Gazprom, decided to suspend the $ 2.6 billion debt collection procedure from the Russian company as part of the the ruling of the Stockholm Arbitration Court.

Naftogaz’s Chief Commercial Director Yuriy Vitrenko posted this on hisFacebook page.

«Today we made a submission to the Swedish Court of Appeal, which is considering the appeal against the ruling of the Arbitration Court. In contrast to arbitration, the rules of which forbid public disclosure, submissions to the Appeals Court are, as a rule, public. So anyone wanting to can read it; there are a lot of interesting things» – said Vitrenko.

Naftogaz’s Chief Commercial Director also stressed that Gazprom will pay the debt in full and will reimburse all related costs.

«Gazprom unfairly tries not to pay this debt. So far, he has only reached a suspension of the debt collection. We will seek how to punish Gazprom for such dishonest actions. We will force Gazprom to pay the debt in full and recover all the costs associated with it», – Mr Vitrenko noted.

As «The Journalist» reported, the Swedish Court of Appeal suspended to implement the ruling of the Stockholm Arbitration Court in the dispute Naftogaz – Gazprom.
