NASA already reserves launch seats to deliver its cargo to the Moon

Until the end of 2018, the NASA agency plans to begin purchasing seats for its cargo, which will be sent to Earth’s satellite. This is informed by Space.com.
NASA is beginning preparations for its Lunar program. Agency is planned to purchase cargo places on private vehicles which will be sent to the Moon in the next couple of years.

«We have a strong necessity to get an opportunity to deliver our cargoes to the Moon surface with the help of landing modules. We believe private companies can provide us such an opportunity», – said the NASA deputy associate administrator for the Space Technology Mission Directorate, James Reuter.

It is noted that at the first stage, which is planned till the end of 2021, small cargoes of 10 kg will be delivered to the lunar surface. The agency assumes that the first cargo modules will be small and medium-sized. But in the future it is planned to create devices that can deliver astronauts to the Moon.
