An asteroid the size of a multi-storey building will pass by Earth on September 1, the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration informs.
The asteroid is expected to approach the Earth at 7:12 p.m. (Kyiv time). Its size ranging from 22 to 49 meters and it will fly by the planet at a distance of about 120,000 kilometers.
For comparison, the distance from the Moon to the Earth is 384,400 kilometers. The celestial body is moving at 8.16 kilometers per second.
Asteroid 2011 ES4 was discovered on March 2, 2011.
