The NATO military alliance is starting to develop an action plan for the second wave of coronavirus which is expected in late autumn, Der Spiegel reports.

The ambassadors of NATO member countries held a private meeting with Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. Following the meeting, it was decided to develop the operational plan for the second wave of COVID-19.

The Alliance wants to prepare a more coordinated response to a second coronavirus outbreak in order to provide more effective support to NATO’s affected partners.

The plan will be presented and adopted by the Alliance in late June at a meeting of defense ministers of NATO member countries.
