Violation of safety techniques could be the reason for the ignition of ships on the Black Sea. This information was provided by Interfax, citing a source in the Russian Maritime Search and Rescue Services.

According to preliminary data, an explosion occurred on a tanker during the transfer of fuel to another vessel. It is assumed that the crew of the tanker at the same time did not observe safety precautions.

“They were loaded in Temriuk (Krasnodar Territory, the Russian Federation – ed.) With liquefied gas,” said the agency interlocutor.

According to the source, "it was an illegal transshipment."
According to the latest data, 11 bodies of the dead were lifted from the water, three more, most likely, also died: the rescuers saw how they went under water; they did not have any rescue equipment. The fate of five people is unknown.
12 people managed to be saved.
According to preliminary data, there were 31 people aboard ships – citizens of Turkey and India.
