The Kyiv authorities to implement another infrastructure project – the construction of a new pedestrian bridge from Obolon embankment to the Obolon island, the mayor of Kyiv Vitalii Klitschko reports.
“We are starting the construction of a new pedestrian bridge from Obolon embankment to the Obolon island. We plan to implement this important project for Obolon residents, residents of Kyiv and guests of the capital, in mid-2021. The bridge will connect Obolon embankment (in the area of the golf center) with the Obolon island,” Vitalii Klitschko said.
According to the mayor of the capital, the bridge will be 4 meters wide and 164 meters long. It will have three spans. The structure will be based on 4 supports, two of which will be located in the strait.
“The bridge will have a very interesting architectural design and will be illuminated in the evening and at night. It will be comfortable for the movement of people with limited mobility. We will arrange video surveillance on the bridge and the adjacent territory for the safety of Kyiv residents and guests of the capital. We will also carry out landscaping on the island. With minimal interference with the natural landscape. We will arrange a swimming area there so that citizens of Kiev have more wonderful places to relax. It is important that the pedestrian bridge will not interfere with the passage of small boats into the Obolon Bay. We will build the bridge at the expense of patrons,” Vitalii Klitschko stressed.
