Norway is ready to significantly increase investment in Ukrainian economy, primarily in energy segment.

This was stated during a meeting with Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman by the head of Norwegian government Erna Solberg, the press service of the [Cabinet of Ministers](https://www.kmu.gov.ua/ua/news/ukrayina-i-norvegiya-posilyuvatimut- vzayemodiyu-v-ekonomici-ta-protidiyi-zovnishnim-zagrozam-zustrich-glav-uryadiv) reports.

“Dialogue of our countries allowed us to develop and conduct several mutually beneficial projects. Among them are the intentions of the Norwegian companies Scatec Solar and NBT to take part in the development of the renewable energy sector of Ukraine. Now the volume of Norwegian investments in Ukrainian economy is very small – about $ 8 million. And implementation of joint energy plans will increase this figure dozens of times,” said Norwegian Prime Minister.
According to Groysman and Solberg, areas of mutual interest are also software and IT, environmental protection, agricultural production, shipbuilding, education.
Prime Minister Groysman, in turn, invited Norwegian investors to take part in auctions for the sale of special permits for use of oil and gas subsurface, adding that the first auction will take place approximately in March of this year.

As reported by “Journalist”, in just one year, Ukraine’s national debt grew by more than $ 2 billion.
