Oil prices drops 10% after US bans travel from Europe

According to ICE exchange in London, Brent and WTI crude oil prices fell more than 10% after the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, appealed to thenation in connection with the coronavirus outbreak.

Recall, US President Donald Trump announced his intention to ban all trips from Europe for a 30-days period in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.

US will ban flights from 26 EU countries which are members of the Schengen border-free travel area.

“We will be suspending all travel from Europe to the United States for the next 30 days. The new rules will go into effect Friday at midnight. These restrictions will be adjusted subject to conditions on the ground,” Trump explained.

As of 5:10 a.m. Kyiv time, the price of Brent oil fell by 10.6% to USD 33.65 per barrel, while WTI was trading at USD 31.11 per barrel which is lower by 10.44%.
