The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has announced that Oleksiy Sukhachev was appointed as the new acting director of the SBI.
Oleksiy Sukhachev was born in 1978 in Kharkiv. In 2000 he graduated from the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University with a degree in jurisprudence.
“Doctor of Laws, he defended his thesis in the specialty “Criminal Procedure and Forensic Science and Forensic Expertise, Operational Investigative Activity.” Honored Lawyer of Ukraine,” the message reads.
Since 2000, Oleksiy Sukhachev began military service in the state security agencies, went from an investigator, operative to the deputy of the Central Directorate of the Security Council of Ukraine.
During 2017-2019, he worked as Deputy Head of the Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine.
During 2019-2020, he served in the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
“Based on the results of an open competition, in August 2020, he was appointed Deputy Director of the State Bureau of Investigation,” the ministry concluded.
