The elections in Donbas do not comply with the Constitution of Ukraine and will be incompatible with the provisions of the Minsk Agreements, Rosemary A. DiCarlo, UN Undersecretary-General for Political Affairs, said this at the UN Security Council meeting.
Mrs DiCarlo has stressed, that despite Ukraine’s objections, the preparation for the so-called «elections», scheduled for November 11, is still ongoing.
«I would like to remind you that election-related issues are provided by the Minsk agreements as part of a comprehensive package, and they are considered within the framework of the existing negotiation mechanisms,» she stated.
It is also noted that any attempts of holding elections outside the constitutional framework of Ukraine «will be incompatible with the Minsk agreements,» UNIAN reported.
