People’s deputy from the European Solidarity faction Oleksiy Honcharenko said that the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine has opened proceedings against the former director of the State Bureau of Investigation, Roman Truba.

“On my request regarding the unlawful actions of Roman Truba, the OPG answered that on December 13 a pre-trial investigation was launched on this matter under Article 343 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (interference with the activities of law enforcement officials) and Article 387 of the Criminal Code (disclosure of pre-trial investigation data). The case was assigned to the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine,” the parliamentarian said.

To Honcharenko, the published records from Truba’s office prove that the former head of the department has repeatedly violated the law.

“In this situation, it is not quite enough to dismiss him from his post. I think that an unbiased investigation of Roman Truba’s actions, and other involved, is a matter of honor for law enforcement officers,” the MP said.

As The Journalist reported, Zelensky signed law on SBI’s reboot: new SBI chief to be found in five days.
