On November 5, at a closed meeting of the Permanent Council of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) held in Vienna, a report on massive violations of human rights and torture in response to peaceful protests in Belarus was presented, Euronews reports.

The OSCE report says that Belarus is recommended to annul the results of the presidential elections due to violations that took place at all stages of the electoral process. The report also calls for new “fair elections that meet international standards.”

“Among other things, Minsk is recommended to ensure the safety of journalists, facilitate the accreditation of foreign correspondents, stop censorship and blocking of websites,” OSCE experts said.

The presidential elections in Belarus took place on August 9. After the CEC declared Alexander Lukashenko the winner, mass protests began in the Republic, accompanied by numerous detentions, arrests and the use of force against peaceful demonstrators.
