Newly elected secretary of the Poltava City Council, Oleksander Shamota, asked the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to investigate information about the possible involvement in the treason of mayor of the city, Oleksandr Alexander Mamai, sent by city council to resign on September 14.
«I have the facts that part of the servers where information about the activities of the Poltava City Council are stored are in Russia. This is not just «cotton wool», it’s real treason. An appropriate statement, I asked the SBU», said Shamota.
At the same time, Shamota refused to provide additional information about his application to SBU, noting only that Russian servers allegedly store information about the city’s vital activity.
Newly elected secretary also called on law enforcement agencies to limit the access of Mamai’s retired to City Council’s documentation.
«Office of mayor keeps documents that are important for the city’s activities. Of course, with help of law enforcers, we will try to establish legality and stop illegal access to them by Mamai», Shamota said.
As The Journalist reported after resignation of mayor, Poltava City Council elected a new secretary of City Council.
