Greek parliament set to vote on Macedonia’s NATO accession protocol

Today, Greek Parliament plans to vote on ratifying the protocol on the Macedonia’s accession to the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO). After ratification, the country will officially be called as the Republic of Northern Macedonia, and other countries will be able to ratify the agreement, Ekathimerini reports.

At first there will be a debate on this issue, with the voting afterwards. It is expected that the protocol on the accession of Macedonia to NATO will be ratified by at least 151 votes out from 300 parliamentaries.
After accession protocol will be ratified, amendments to the constitution of Macedonia will come into force and the country will officially be called the Republic of Northern Macedonia.
