The Verkhovna Rada adopted the governmental law “key principles (the strategy) of the public environment policy of Ukraine for the period until 2030” (No. 8328).

Some 241 deputies backed this decision.

The Strategy envisages the introduction of eco-friendly, resource- and energy-saving technologies, and the development of renewables.

It is noted that air pollution is one of the most acute environmental problems in Ukraine: in fact, two thirds of the country’s population lives in areas with unacceptable level of air condition, which does not comply with hygienic standards and affects the overall morbidity of the population.

The strategy also states that industry, energy and transport are the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions in Ukraine.

According to various criteria, about 20% of the Ukraine’s soil is polluted.

It is also noted that Ukraine has a high risk of emergency situations of natural and man-made nature.

As The Journalist reported, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law on Transplantation as a method of treatment in Ukraine.
