On June 12, the House of Commons by a vote of 324 to 298 passed a plan UK to leave the European Union (Brexit).
Thus, British Prime Minister Theresa May won support, but was forced to make concessions to the pro-EU and pro-Brexit wings of her Conservative Party, – reported by Deutsche Welle.
As a result, the parliament will receive more control over the process of the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the EU. At the same time, some British politicians would like to maintain close ties with Brussels.
The transition period, during which London and Brussels will have to agree on a future partnership, will begin after the official withdrawal of the UK from the EU in March 2019 and will take 21 months. During this time, the British side will not be able to participate in decision-making, but will continue to comply with EU rules, contribute to its budget and recognize the decisions of the EU court. In addition, London will remain a member of the Pan-European market and the European Union Customs Union.
As «The Journalist» reported earlier, Scotland will consider independence vote.
