The Verkhovna Rada approved the introduction of a new customs tariff in Ukraine. The corresponding bill No. 3238 was adopted at a parliament meeting on June 4, the Ministry of Finance said.

The new tariff will change the classification, description, additional units of measurement and accounting of individual goods – they were put in line with the international customs classifier.

Ukraine pledged to bring its classification of foreign economic activity and goods in line with foreign economic activity, within the framework of the World Trade Organization.

“Harmonization of the legislation makes it possible to compare customs statistics of Ukraine and that of trading partners, standardize foreign trade documentation,” the Ministry of Finance explained.

The elimination of differences in the product codes of the exporting country and Ukraine will facilitate and accelerate the implementation of customs procedures during the process of customs clearance of imported good.

The Ministry of Finance emphasized that the import duty rates on goods remain unchanged.
